Conflict of “Fathers and Sons”: Who are the Children’s Books Witten For and Who Reads Them?

Abstract

The last decades in Russia are marked by a higher interest by adults in children’s literature. This interest among readers of all ages is not only in novels for young adults but in picture books as well. There is a new definition that addresses this phenomenon of crossover literature. This article is focused on the reasons for adults’ interest in children’s books, as it analyses specific features of the crossover novel and explores the reasons beyond its attractiveness for the readers of all ages.   Keywords: Children’s literature, crossover literature, reading
