Abstract

The article by Valentin Golovin focuses on the literary experiments presented in the journal for the young, Galchenok (1911–1913). The thematic corpus of the texts and their literary form are analyzed through the prism of the “grotesque and carnivalization” period of Russian symbolism as it was present in the works of Russian modernist poets, Sergei Gorodetsky and Maria Moravskaya. These poems demonstrate a close connection that existed between the new poetics of children’s literature and the aesthetics of the Silver Age.   Keywords: Galchenok, children’s literature, journalism for children, poetics, Modernism, Silver Age, quotes, A. Radakov, S. Gorodetsky, “raek”, an infernal hero
