Abstract

This review covers the VI International conference “Children’s Literature as an Event” held on 13–14 February 2026. The conference foregrounded reflection and collaborativity as its central themes. Both topics were explored across presentations, panel discussions, and roundtables. Participants actively shared personal experiences as teachers, scholars, parents etc. connected with different practices of joint book reading, shared participation, and co-creation with children and adolescents. The conference demonstrated that only through collaboration between adults and children can the current challenges facing children’s reading be effectively addressed.
