“Children’s Enterprise, Realized by Adults”: A Collection of Pictures and Stories “Our Magazine”
Abstract
The article by Kseniia Remizova. Nash Journal/Our Journal (1916), is a unique phenomenon in the history of children’s picture books. The history of its creation, the selection of the authors who published their drawings and stories in it, as well as the artistic framing of the journal, attracted the attention of many Russian scholars. Nevertheless, Nash Journal can be viewed not only as a children’s book but also as a significant cultural event at the beginning of the 20th century. This was the period of reconsideration of the subject of childhood, which began to view the child as an artist, and ultimately changed the perspective on children’s creativity.
