Children-Outsiders and Parallel Worlds: Real and Fantastic in Ekaterina Murashova's Novel "Correction Class"
Abstract
In this article, on the example of the story of Ekaterina Murashova "Class of Correction" (2005), the construct of the hero and heroism in children's literature, as well as the traditional concepts of "norm" and "normality", which modern society adheres to, is considered. The study shows how the author's appeal to the fantasy genre is connected with the depiction of the social and psychological evolution of the characters, how the use of specific artistic techniques characteristic of the fantasy genre helps the author challenge the authoritarian and detached mentality of social institutions in relation to outsider children.
