“School canon” by P. M. Bicilli: a reviewer's view
Abstract
The text examines three issues of Prof. P. M. Bitzili published in 1931—1934 and dedicated to Russian literary development — from folklore to literature (emigrant and of the metropolis) of the 30s of 20th century. Through them, Bitzili participated in the modeling of new/different «school canon» which was not isolated but was united with the emigrant canon of the Memory for Russian roots and supranational Literary canon. Reviews of the contemporaries of the professor are presented. They evaluate and interpret his canon in the context of existing and accepted literary models.
