In Memoriam: Professor Elena Vladimirovna Dushechkina (1941—2020)
Today it is 9 days since Elena Vladimirovna Dushechkina, a member of the Editorial Board of «Children's Readings», has passed away. Elena Vladimirovna inspired us to develop our project and supported us with all her might. She was one of the first to respond to the offer to share her studies and republished her research on the pioneer song in the magazine − at the beginning of the journey, this was very important for us. It was a sign of approval of our work on the creation of a completely new publishing project. It was also essential that her articles were specifically about children's literature (and not the «image of childhood» in the work of the classics).
Children's literature has never been the main focus of her research. But as a deep and thoughtful scientist, accustomed to working with the periphery of the literary field − calendar literature, scenarios for children's New Year's matinees, children's writing, and home poetry, Elena Vladimirovna understood that children's literature is an essential part of literature history worthy of systematic and serious study. Sharing this understanding with her was very valuable to us. Her short remarks and approvals meant a lot to us. They still mean a lot. We will miss her very much. We already miss her…
